In June 2010, Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort in San Diego’s Inland North County reopened its expansive buffet venue after a $6.2 million renovation. The new Modern Food Theater offers 9,000 sq. ft. of space and more than 200 menu items and can accommodate up to 426 guests. In April 2010, the 55-year-old landmark Bali Hai Restaurant on Shelter Island unveiled a new look and feel after months of renovation. While the original building structure made from rare types of woods was preserved, the restaurant’s interior now features classic-style Hawaiian décor, a new Bamboo Lounge with a honey onyx bar and new areas for special events, including an outdoor dining deck, bayside patio and two refurbished dining areas for meeting and events. As part of a $20 million resort renovation, Paradise Point Resort & Spa along Mission Bay unveiled extensive upgrades to its meeting and event space in February 2010. More than 35,000 sq. ft. of meeting space was refurbished to accent the property’s waterfront location and scenic views.
