Pitch In to Save Our Fire Pits

The San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau (SDCVB) has partnered with the San Diego Foundation and Hotel Motel Association (HMA) to raise money to cover the cost of the annual maintenance of the 186 fire pits along our beaches and bays, since the City can no longer afford to fund them. The “Save Our Fire Pits” campaign kicked off May 12 at a press conference with San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and SDCVB President and CEO Joe Terzi. The travel industry values our beach bonfires and the memorable experiences they create for locals and visitors alike. Please donate to protect this important public asset, an integral part of our San Diego lifestyle and identity as a region and destination—when you contribute before June 30, you’ll be automatically entered to win deluxe prize packages!
You can donate via the button above or by a check made out to The San Diego Foundation with "Fire Pits" in the memo line and mailed to: The San Diego Foundation Attention: Fire Pits 2508 Historic Decatur Road, Suite 200 San Diego, CA 92106. For additional information or to make grants directly to the Save the Fire Pits fund, please contact our charitable giving team at 619-235-2300 or givingteam@sdfoundation.org.
