In a move that underscores the growing travel trend toward vacationing with the family pet, Loews Hotels introduces new learning vacations for four-legged friends. The chain, well known for spearheading the trend with the introduction of its Loews Loves Pets program in 2000, currently offers “The Hound of Music” at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel Nashville, “Outward Hound” at Loews Denver Hotel and “Su’ruff Camp” at Loews Coronado Bay Resort.

“Children and even their parents have long enjoyed the learning opportunities that travel affords, whether learning to kayak, mastering yoga or simply exploring new surroundings. Now the beloved family pet can not only tag along on vacation but be an integral and amusing part of it,” says Jonathan Tisch, President and CEO, Loews Hotels.

Su’ruff Camp – At Loews Coronado Bay Resort, dogs don board shorts for surfing lessons with Coronado Surfing Academy at Coronado’s Dog Beach. Starting at $389, the one-night package also includes deluxe accommodations and a surf ‘n’ turf doggie supper, a perfect mix of beef tenderloin and salmon. Surf dogs can also choose between doggie board shorts (smaller dogs) or a surfer bandana (larger dogs) from Lucky Dog, San Diego’s premier dog boutique.

The Hound of Music – Where better than Music City for canines to cut their first CD? At Loews Vanderbilt Hotel Nashville, dogs head into the studio with a voice coach for a professional recording session where they’ll howl along with a musician or bark to their favorite karaoke beat. Priced at $1,599 a night, the package offers dogs the ultimate star treatment with accommodations in one of Loews Vanderbilt’s plush, pet-friendly suites. Package highlights include a pet room service voucher, a grooming session and massage, a limo ride to the studio and a personalized CD case.

Outward Hound – Even the prissiest of pooches can learn to feel comfortable in the great outdoors with the “Outward Hound” package at the Loews Denver Hotel featuring a two hour on-and-off leash guided hike with a personal trainer, fresh baked healthy dog treats, limo pick-up and drop-off, and a personalized web photo gallery documenting the dog’s adventure. The package starts at $180 per night and also includes luxury accommodations, owner’s choice of collapsible pet travel dishes, an H20 Frisbee or a travel food bag and water carrier; a map of pet-friendly destinations; continental breakfast for two, valet parking and complimentary transportation within a six-mile radius. The hotel also offers Doggie Day Care, group playtimes, supervised swim time and Reiki sessions for pampered pets.

Since the introduction of the “Loews Loves Pets” program, many VIPs (Very Important Pets) have made Loews Hotels their home away from home, enjoying the special treatment and privileges that are offered at all of the chain’s properties in the U.S. and Canada. As part of the Loews Loves Pets program, each visiting VIP can travel in first-class comfort with gourmet room service, specialized bedding, a pet amenity and guest services designed to make pets and their owners feel right at home.
