Young Scientists

Mother and Child Experiment with the

Mother and Child Experiment with the "Rope Squirter" in the "Motion Mania" exhibition

Programming for Pre-schoolers & their Parents!

"Young Scientists" is a hands-on preschool science program offered by the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. This program provides informal learning experiences that support and enhance exploration, create excitement, and facilitate scientific discoveries.

Each session consists of four weeks of developmentally appropriate science-related topics. Young scientists begin each class by exploring the science center galleries (before they open to the public), followed by 60 minutes of hands-on science activities led by the Fleet’s science educators. Each activity includes parent/child directed questions.

The program is designed for children ages 3-5 years with an accompanying adult. One caregiver must attend with each child. Siblings are not permitted.

Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. Participants must register for all four classes in each session. Classes meet on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.

To register for the Young Scientists program, please contact our Client Services Department at 619-238-1233, ext. 806.
