Meeting & Convention Hotel News
The Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa on Mission Bay is celebrating 50 years of excellence in servicing groups and meeting planners by launching a teambuilding program within its more than 25,200 sq. ft. of meeting space and 18 acres of lush tropical landscaping. The resort’s ice breaker programs like “MapQuest” and “Tiki Test” encourage meeting groups to work collaboratively and creatively to brand maps, puzzles and team masks. Other teambuilding exercises include scavenger hunts and boat races in and around the resort’s private beaches and marina, along with off-site excursions into Old Town San Diego and Temecula Valley’s prized wine country. The resort has created an array of programs that can be tailored to meet each group’s needs. South Coast Winery Resort and Spa in Temecula recently announced the opening of the Carter Reserve Room, a private room showcasing nearly 60 leading wines from the winery’s award-winning history. Three moveable wine racks can be used to divide the room into semi-private areas, and the room can seat up to 40 guests and was envisioned for business dinners, private parties and wine pairing events. The winery’s expert concierge shares details about each wine with the guests; in addition to private catered affairs, guests can also enjoy the Carter Reserve Room by participating in The World of Wine and Food Presentation. This special wine tasting includes a plated cheese and fruit assortment paired with specially selected wines for $40 per person ($35 for wine club members). The 45-minute tasting takes place at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
