Shores and Tours in Coronado
There's so much to see and do in Coronado! Start your day by the shore taking in the views and soaking up the sun's warm rays. That afternoon, take a walking tour and learn about the island's rich past. When night falls, enjoy an evening of culture at Lamb's Player's theatre. Morning:Named for the tiny, silvery shells that cover its shoreline, Silver Strand Beach is an 11-mile stretch of beach and bayfront that connects Coronado to Imperial Beach. Surrounded by endless vistas of the Pacific Ocean and bay, visitors can swim, search for seashells, and bike around the coastline. Afternoon:The Coronado Historical Association offers walking tours detailing Coronado’s colorful past. Explore the stately home of sugar baron John D. Spreckels, the Duchess of Windsor Cottage, the home where L. Frank Baum lived and was inspired to write the Wizard of Oz and more. Evening:Enjoy an evening of culture at Lamb’s Players theatre. The theatre performs five productions per year at the 350-seat Resident Stage in the historic Spreckels Building in downtown Coronado. Lamb’s annual 5-play season runs February through November, with December filled with a variety of Christmas productions. The schedule includes a mix of premieres, classics, musicals and comedies.
