The Variety is Endless
The beaches, the mountains, the deserts. Wherever you go you won't be disappointed. Though the moto community is centered around places like Temecula, Poway and Santee, serious gearheads should head straight for the desert, especially Ocotillo Wells via HWY 78 Eastbound. Pedal-powered bikers and self-starting hikers have the most options. Try the trails around Mt. Laguna, Cuyamaca and Palomar. The vertically-oriented should warm up at Woodson, then check out the Valley of the Moon (just over the border in Imperial County), or Taquitz Peak (at Idyllwild in Riverside County). There are specialized shops and offroad outfitters around town that can steer you in the right direction for the outdoor experience of your choosing.
