Sexy Lounges Shake it Up
Patrons flock to San Diego’s low-lit lounges in search of gorgeous crowds, sexy beats and cool cocktails. Less frenetic than traditional clubs, these venues offer the opportunity for conversation while still satisfying the need to see and been seen.
- Opened April 2007, Bar West in Pacific Beach turns up the sophistication with luscious libations, swanky décor and bottle service, but maintains a surfer’s sensibility with an onsite valet for beach cruisers.
- JRDN offers another chic alternative to the standard beach bar—the modern space draws a well-dressed crowd nightly. Located at San Diego’s beachfront boutique hotel, Tower23, JRDN offers an indoor/outdoor bar perched atop the cliffs above Pacific Beach.
- At Confidential, a Gaslamp Quarter hideaway, romance is in the air. After all, "The Bachelor" Andrew Firestone is a major investor in this hush-hush spot where well-heeled 20-somethings mingle at sleek, white cocktail tables or on supple, leather couches in the loft.
- Hip-hop beats and house music swirling out the door signal The Side Bar, another Gaslamp Quarter favorite, where hipsters gather for hot music, cool cocktails and a laid-back, retro lounge atmosphere.
