Rookie Card
Rookie Card includes two long-time San Diegans and a recent transplant from Virginia. They were greatly influenced by San Diego radio, growing up listening to local stations and picking up songwriting inspiration. Currently, favorite San Diego artists include the Ex-Friends, Billy Midnight, Bad Credit and more. The Casbah is their home away from home, and they also enjoy seeing shows at the Belly Up and the Whistle Stop. “At the Casbah, we took everyone outside for an encore and had airplanes flying over when we played ‘Back in the USSR.’" Rookie Card believes that being in a city smaller than L.A. “brings out the niceness in a lot of folks so you always see lots of musicians hanging out and talking at shows.” Other than playing and watching music “we love to walk around and see the sunshine that we’re lucky to have so often.” More information:rookiecardthemovie.com myspace.com/rookiecard
