Ashley June
Ashley June has called San Diego home for six years. But she credits her teachers and studies as her biggest influences. “A whole new world appeared before my eyes and I learned more every day, and I took my knowledge and formed songs around bits and pieces of it.” Not quite yet a seasoned performer, she began earning her dues at her first shaky performances at Lestat’s Coffee House. “Thank goodness for the lighthearted atmosphere in Lestat’s,” and she is popular on the house party circuit. Her favorite local acts include Pinback, Corporate Circus and the Purple Spuds of Truth. And her hot tip for seeing national acts, “The grass seats at Coors Amphitheater are affordable and you can just lie down and relax.” Ashley June likes her fellow San Diego musicians. “Most of the other musicians I have met here are really nice and down to earth.
