Fred Jones
Fred Jones (a band made up of Ray, Jason and Ash), are feeling the San Diego music scene heating up. “There are a lot of opportunities for bands in the San Diego music scene to gain recognition, play with great bands, and meet a lot of people.” The band prefers a casual environment for playing and enjoying other musicians, “Coffee shops or venues where the musicians and audience are in more of a casual, yet intimate, environment. I think, this way, people in the audience can really feel like they’re a part of the music, rather than just listeners or spectators, and that is something that we hope for people to experience at our shows.” Pinback and Get Back Loretta are on their list of favorite San Diego artists. They feel the city is making a real impact on the music scene at large, “With such an array of really good bands, you never know which band is going to make it next, and which band is going to gain that substantial following, a record deal, and be able to be musicians for a living.
