Is there a San Diego Visitors Guide available?
The San Diego Official Visitor Guide is available from our friendly and informative staff at the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau's official visitor centers.

We would like to get married in San Diego. How do we obtain a license?
Congratulations! For information on obtaining a marriage license, please visit the County of San Diego web site. Consider taking advantage of San Diego's natural beauty and get married in an outdoor setting. Reserving a city or county park for a wedding ceremony is an easy and inexpensive. For information on wedding locations in County Parks, please visit the Parks & Recreation Department for the County of San Diego. For outdoor settings close to the Ocean or Bay, please contact the San Diego Port District (619) 686-6222, or the Coastal Division (619) 221-8901. Many resorts and hotels in San Diego also have lovely outdoor settings suitable for a wedding ceremony and reception.

Is it possible to receive my personal mail while traveling thru San Diego?
If you do not know where you will be staying in San Diego, mail may be sent to you care of: Your name, C/O General Delivery, San Diego Main Post Office, San Diego, CA 92110. Mail can be picked up at the main post office at 2535 Midway Drive. For more information call (619) 758-7101.

What are the Liquor Laws?
The legal age in California for the purchase and or consumption of alcohol is 21 years of age. Proof of age is required so please be prepared to show identification.

What about smoking?
On December 6, 2006 the San Diego Port Commission passed an ordinance banning smoking in parks and piers around San Diego Bay. The ordinance is one of many throughout San Diego County affecting most public parks in the cities of San Diego, National City, Coronado, La Mesa, Escondido, Del Mar, and Solana Beach. Check posted signs to be sure if smoking is permitted in these public areas.

What documentation is required to visit Tijuana and Baja California?
Tijuana, the closest Mexican City, is approximately 16 miles south of downtown San Diego. For information on the documentation required, please visit our Visitor Safety Tips for Traveling in Mexico.
