What can you tell me about beaches in the San Diego area?
If "life's a beach," then San Diego County is the place to experience it to the fullest, with 70 miles of sand and sea stretching from Oceanside at the north of the County, to Imperial Beach close to the Mexican border. Where can I get information on Lake Fishing?
San Diego's lakes and rivers provide freshwater anglers with Florida bass, channel catfish, bluegill, trout and crappie to name a few. For more information, contact City of San Diego Water Dept. Lakes Recreation Division. The County of San Diego Parks & Recreation Division has a lake fishing information hot line that is updated daily. Please contact the California Department of Fish & Game 866-703-1924 for additional information and fishing license requirements.

Are there any public swimming pools in San Diego?
The City of San Diego operates a swim hotline: 858-581-7100 which gives information on a number of facilities open to the public for lap and recreational swimming or you can visit the City of San Diego's listing of public pools. Belmont Park in Mission Beach has a swimming pool at the Wave House Athletic Park.

Where can I view marine life habitats?
The San Diego La Jolla Underwater Park was created in 1970. Within the park are two special areas, the Ecological Reserve and the Marine Life Refuge. Both are regulated to protect native marine and geological resources. This park is great for scuba diving and snorkeling. You are welcome to enjoy this treasure, but please follow all the posted rules.

Where can I get information on sportfishing?
San Diego, home of one of the largest and most modern sportfishing fleets in the world, offers a variety of fishing trips aboard a diversity of vessels. Summer and fall provide ideal warm weather conditions for sportfishing excursions.

How can I get to Ensenada, Mexico by Boat?
At the current time, there is no daily boat service to Ensenada. Several boating companies will organize a bareboat or skippered charter to Ensenada and other destinations to suit your requirements. There are several ground transportation companies that provide daily tours to Ensenada.

Where can I rent Jet Skis?
Jet skis, wave runners, sailboats, kayaks and other aquatic equipment are available for rent from a variety of boating companies.

Can I take surfing lessons when I get to San Diego?
Several San Diego surfing schools offer personalized lessons from ages 8-80. If surfing is not for you, try renting a boogie board and go out and catch some waves.
