Tips while staying in a hotel
  • Never leave your pet unattended in a room unless the hotel indicates you may do otherwise.
  • If you must leave your pet unattended, put him in a crate or in the bathroom. Leave the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door to avoid surprising hotel staff or allowing your pet to escape.
  • Bringing bedding or a carrier so you pet feels comfortable and at home.
  • Place you pet's food and water bowls in the bathroom for ease of clean up.
  • Keep you pet on a leash or carrier in public areas.

Downtown/Coronado

>Hotel Solamar
No size limit; no deposit.
Complimentary amenities for the pampered poodle and kept kitty include a designer pet bed for in-room use, a water bowl with distilled water, pet treats & toy on arrival. A disposable litter box is complimentary for the feline. Pet sitting or walking services available with 72 hours notice. (Additional cost applies)

>Loews Coronado Bay Resort
All pets welcome. No size limit; $25 per stay, non-refundable fee.
Pets are allowed in the resort but not in the restaurant.

Under the "Loews Loves Pets" Program each pet is welcomed with a personal note form the hotel's general manager which includes a listing of pet services available at the hotel, a of the area with dog-walking routes highlighted, pet attractions, pet-friendly restaurants, and other resources. Guestrooms are provided with special pet place mats with food and water bowls, bedding, toys and treats, and a "Do Not Disturb" sign that let housekeeping know that a pet is in the room. Special "Puppy Pagers" are issued at no extra charge so the hotel staff can contact pet owners in case of an emergency. Room service menus, developed by a licensed veterinarian, offer cat and dog specialties including vegetarian entrees. Beverage carts offer bottled water and milk. A wide selection of dry and canned pet foods is also available. Pet walking and pet sitting services are available at the concierge desk.

Su'ruff Camp Package
This package includes guestroom accommodations, dog surfing lessons with Coronado Surfing Academy at Coronado's Dog Beach, a Surf 'n' Turf Supper, a copy of "The Dog's Guide to Surfing," and a choice of doggie board shorts or a surfer Bandana from Lucky Dog.

>The Westin Horton Plaza San Diego
Dogs up to 40 lbs.; no extra charge. Dog beds, treats and dishes available at no extra charge.

Dogs & cats welcome up to 80 lbs.; $25 extra room charge; $100 non-refundable cleaning fee.

On arrival, pets will receive a "Welcome Packet," that includes a pet toy, pet treat, a W Hotels pet tag, clean-up bags and a welcome letter with information about special pet services available through the Concierge and list of items available for pets. A custom W pet bed, food and water bowl with a floor mat, "Pet-in-Room" door sign, and a special treat at turndown will be provided. Dog walking and other services available on request.

>Sheraton San Diego Hotel, Mission Valley
