San Diego has it all when it comes to what's new and exciting at the attractions.
Get a close-up view of lions in a naturalistic setting at the San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park, catch Dr. Zoolittle's zany science show at the San Diego Zoo, take part in an all-out Star Wars weekend at LEGOLAND, or get ready for lots of special activities during Summer Nights at SeaWorld. You'll find San Diego is just the ticket for fun and adventure!

Cheetah Run Safari is a unique opportunity to witness Majani, one of the Park's cheetahs, go from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds while chasing after a mechanical rabbit lure. This stimulating exercise outlet keeps the cheetah in great shape and allows spectators to see the world's fastest mammal from just a few feet away. The hour-long experience includes up-close encounters with other African wildlife, light refreshments and a 5x7 photo of Majani.
Cost: $69; nonmembers must add Wild Animal Park admission; parking fee not included.

Lion Camp, a one-acre naturalistic exhibit, gives visitors a chance to get closer to lions than ever before! The lions are separated from visitors by a laminated, tempered glass panel giving this exhibit a unique feeling of being in an African savanna. Rock croppings allow lions to view the Park's giraffes, rhinos and antelope herds. Lion Camp also features daily scheduled animal encounters (11:30am and 3:30pm) where you'll meet a variety of animals and their trainers.

Take part in Garden Celebration: Bugs & Blooms from May 20 -22 and enjoy botanical bus tours (1pm daily), lectures, crafts for kids, display booths, information booths and more. Self-guided tour sheets will be available for those who wish to explore on their own. The Zoo's Orchid House will be open to the public from 10am to 2pm daily during the Spring Garden Celebration.

Children's Zoo Activities
Visit Bugtown - The Itty Bitty City and explore the wonder of insects and other invertebrates. During the spring, you can watch honeybees in their glass-lined hive. Don't miss Dr. Zoolittle's zany science show, "The Good, the Bad and the Bugly," having fun with "Bug Crafts," and seeing a garden of plants with bug names. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the popular Petting Paddock and the two
animal nurseries. The Children's Zoo is free with Zoo admission.

May the force be with you for a Star Wars Weekend (April 30 and May 1) where
Star Wars fans from the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers will be roaming the Park in full garb. You'll get to view the Star Wars III movie trailer, there'll be giveaways, including LEGO club magazines which showcase exclusive LEGO Star Wars comics, and there'll be Episode III product viewing and building activities. Some Star Wars models and model scenes will be on display, including
a LEGO model of the new Death Star.

From Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day, enjoy Summer Nights at SeaWorld featuring extended park hours, live music, patriotic fireworks displays and special nighttime animal shows. Experience the park after dark as specialty
acts, percussionists, hip-hop dancers, live musicians and gymnasts entertain at
the front entrance plaza.

Step aboard the decommissioned USS Midway to see the Main Engine Room 3, Main Control room newly restored forecastle, junior officers berthing areas and sick bay that have been added to the museum's new self-guided audio tour. On-station docents will be on hand to tell riveting stories as visitors explore the main control room and one of four massive turbines that collectively produced
212,000 horsepower. You can also walk the 4-acre flight deck, view more than 15 planes and helicopters or get a feel for flying in a simulated cockpit of a military jet.

San Diego Zoo - Monkey Trails will allow visitors to journey into the depths of a tropical forest and encounter some of nature's most imperiled wildlife and plants including mandrills, a clouded leopard, a rare pygmy hippo, venomous snakes, the unique pancake tortoise, endangered mahogany trees and more! The multilevel, 3-acre habitat will open this summer.
