Joan B. Kroc's Monkey Trails and Forest Tales habitat takes you on an
excursion into the wooded world of Asian and African forests. Here you'll
see some of nature's most imperiled wildlife including mandrills, the beautiful
and elusive clouded leopard, highly-prized and endangered mahogany trees, venomous snakes, the unique pancake tortoise, the slender-snouted crocodile and the dwarf crocodile. An elevated walkway through the treetops allows you to observe primate and plant life in the canopy, while a pathway on the forest floor provides enticing encounters with terrestrial ground dwellers like bristle-faced Bornean bearded pigs and Visayan warty pigs, duikers, leopards, hippos, crocodiles and more.

Be tricked, fooled and duped as you uncover a variety of clever ways ocean animal use creative camouflage for survival in this new exhibit, The Art of Deception. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore four distinct ocean habitats - the rocky reef, the sandy ocean bottom, the kelp forest and the open ocean. Veiled chameleons from Saudi Arabia and White's tree frogs, native only to Australia and New Guinea will also be on display for the first time. Children of all ages will enjoy learning about camouflage in the ocean through costume play areas, distorting fun-house mirrors and more.

It will be a "Cinema Summer" as the fifth largest Fair in the country
celebrates the films and television that have made Southern California
famous. The whole family will enjoy exciting exhibits, games, carnival rides, contests, entertainment and food (don't miss the fried Twinkies!). Traditional county fair attractions will feature livestock, home, hobby, woodworking and floral exhibits, and a variety of food and commercial concessions. A wide range of top-performing artists on the Grandstand Stage include REO Speedwagon (6/17), Foreigner (6/21), Daryl Hall and John Oates (6/22) and Kelly Clarkson (6/29).
Hours: 10am - 10pm Sunday - Thursday; 10am -11pm Friday & Saturday (grounds open until midnight). Closed on Mondays, except for July 4.

During the Knights and Damsels Mini-Renaissance Faire, guests are encouraged to dress in medieval guise, feast hearty on exotic food and enjoy lively music as LEGOLAND turns back the clock and returns to medieval times. Watch The Village Blacksmith as he melts and molds metals into spectacular tools and a storyteller weaves magical tales of traditional blacksmithing. Medieval merriment for the whole family will also include entertainment by a world champion bag piper, May Pole dancing, arts and crafts, basket weaving and more! Those brave enough to take on the challenges of the Knights' Quest will receive a collectible LEGO® brick and be knighted by the King!

"A Spark in the Knight," summer-long fireworks will round out the medieval madness every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Score a day of excitement as world-class tennis athletes compete at the beautiful La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad. Elevated to Tier 1 status, this WTA Tour event will include the top women's tennis players in the world such as Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Justine Henin-Hardenne, Nadia Petrova, Elena Dementieva, Kim Clijsters, Svetlana Kuznetsova, and the 2004 Acura Classic champion, Lindsay Davenport. The tournament will include qualifying singles, main draw singles and doubles play. Special activities include free giveaways in the Sponsor Pavilion and Kid's Day and Family Night (8/1) where admission is free for all kids under age 16 when accompanied by an adult.
