Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag, a new IMAX® film, invites audiences into the cockpit to experience one of the military's toughest training exercises. Join Captain John Stratton and hundreds of pilots from all over the world for Red Flag, a combat excise that allows pilots to experience their first ten missions through the most complex and realistic air combat possible. Aviation fans will be thrilled to know that the film features 20 F-15E Strike Eagles, representing four American squadrons, considered by many to be the greatest fighter ever built.

Dora's Pirate Adventure

Dora's Pirate Adventure Dora the ExplorerTM is back for a new, live musical voyage. Bring your family and join Dora, her cousin Diego, Boots the monkey, and the rest of their friends as they embark on an exciting trip to Treasure Island. You'll be able to join in the fun by using your map-reading, counting, musical, and Spanish-language skills to help Dora and her friends navigate the seven seas, overcome obstacles and confront the Pirate Piggies.

Birch Aquarium at Scripps

Shark Discovery Days During Shark Discovery Days through the month of August, you can explore different shark species and their relatives through aquarium activities, exhibits and hands-on displays including an artifact table with preserved shark specimens, jaws, eggs and models. In addition, all ages will have the opportunity to get up-close to sharks and interact with these predators at shark touch stations. Don't miss Sharks 101 Family Day on August 20 where you can enhance your knowledge of sharks through hands-on activities and interactions with Scripps shark researchers.

San Diego Renaissance Faire

San Diego Renaissance Faire Dress in your finest festival garb and relive the splendor of the golden era of the Elizabethan age at the San Diego Renaissance Faire on August 6 & 7. Eight stages of continuous entertainment will feature brave knights battling, exotic gypsies, clever footed dancers, Shakespearian foolery, rousing musicians and more! Storytellers, jugglers and archers will also get into the act. Craft demonstrations will include weaving, spinning and rope making. This merry festival will also offer exotic foods, spices and beverages, fine oils, hand-crafted jewelry, romantic clothing, incense and more!

Location: on the grassy lawns directly north of Morley Field at the corner of Jacaranda Place and Jacaranda Dr.

San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park

Frequent Flyers Frequent Flyers is an all-new bird show that lets you witness birds such as the East African crowned crane in full flight. With over 40 different species and growing, no two shows will be the same. Frequent Flyers is full of great fun, natural history, fantastic stories, and, of course, lots of birds! Show times are noon, 2, and 4 p.m. daily; additional show offered during the summer's Park at Dark festivities.

San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum

San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum Four newly restored aircraft are scheduled to go on display July 19. An F/A-18 Hornet, F9F Panther, RA-5 Vigilante and an F-8 Crusader will become part of the museum's self-guided guided audio tour which is available in English, Spanish and Japanese. Walk the 4-acre flight deck, get a feel for flying in a simulated cockpit of a military jet and view more than 38 exhibits and 18 restored aircraft.

Admission: includes self-guided audio tour; $15, adults; $8, youth (6-17 yrs.), $10, seniors, students & retired military, free 5 and under & active military in uniform
