Be a part of the nation's largest tribute to enlisted military personnel and their families. Nearly a month-long, this celebration is highlighted by a wide range of activities that will provide families and individuals a chance to see and better understand military life. Some of the featured events include the spectacular Sea-n-Air Parade, Navy ship tours, a classic car speed festival, and the wildly popular MCAS Miramar Air Show featuring the Blue Angels and "Fat Albert."

Sept 24 East County Troop Salute & Family Fun Day
The whole family will enjoy this fun-filled event that will feature interactive aircraft displays, children's fleet festival area, family entertainment, dancing, and exhibits. A Child's Safety Fair will offer information and tips on public safety. Ice skating, skateboarding, rock climbing, basketball, volleyball and swimming will also be available

Oct 1 Port of San Diego Sea-n-Air Parade
Don't miss Fleet Week's spectacular flagship event showcasing ships and aircraft parading down The Big Bay from the world's mightiest Navy. The impressive list of ships will include an aircraft carrier, cruiser, guided missile destroyer, destroyer, frigate, nuclear submarine, amphibious assault ship, amphibious dock and platform landing ships, and SEAL support boat. The best viewing will be from Harbor Island, Shelter Island, the Cruise Ship Terminal, Broadway Pier, and the grassy knoll next to the Fish Market Restaurant.

Oct 1 Fleet Week Football Classic
San Diego State will play BYU in the first annual Fleet Week Classic football game. Pregame and half-time shows will feature flyovers, parachutists, and the Marine, Navy and SDSU bands.

Kickoff: 7pm
Admission: free to first 5,000 Active Duty Military (tickets at MWR at 32nd St.); remainder of tickets sold through the San Diego State ticket office, 619-594-7892.

U.S. Navy Ship Tours
Take advantage of this exciting invitation from the Commanders of the U.S. Navy's Third Fleet and Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet to tour the inside of a Navy ship.

Location: Broadway Pier, corner of North Harbor Drive & Broadway
Tours: 10:00am - 4pm
Sign-up time: 9:00am - 2pm or until time slots filled. Sign-ups on same day of the tour. No advance reservations.
Admission: free; valid U.S. Federal or U.S. state government-issued photo ID identification card required for all guests over 16 yrs.

Oct 2 Imperial Beach Blast
Enjoy a performance from the Navy band Millennium at 4pm and a ceremony to recognize several local heroes at 7pm. A two-hour, high-energy musical performance from Wayne Foster's Showdance® will begin at 8pm and will feature singers, dancers and musicians.

Oct 8 & 9 Coronado Classic Speed Festival Car enthusiasts will get a thrill as more than 200 of the world's top vintage race cars compete on the spectator-friendly runways and taxiways of Naval Base Coronado. Fans are invited to tour the pits, meet the drivers, view over 1,000 cars in the Car Club Corral, tour Vendor Village for high-tech exhibits and racing paraphernalia, or admire the Classic Car Collection.

Oct 14 -16   MCAS Miramar Air Show
Watch the world's best military and civilian pilots demonstrate aerial excellence at this spectacular, world-famous air show. Military performers will include the Blue Angels flying F/A-18 Hornets, the Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier, Airforce F-16, the F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Fighter Demo, and the Shockley "ShockWave" Jet Truck. There will also be over 200 hands-on static display exhibits and a simulated combat demonstration from the Marine Air and Ground Task Force (MAGTF). A special Saturday Twilight Show will feature the Great Wall of Fire and Fireworks Grande Finale.

Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum< The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum at the Marine Corps Air Station offers visitors an up-close opportunity to see more than 40 historically significant military aircraft dating from World War II to the present. Open to the public Tuesday -Sunday from 9am-3:30pm, admission is free. Please note that the museum will be closed during the Miramar Air Show (10/14-10/16).
