Lace up those blue suede running shoes and get ready to run the fourth
largest marathon in the country. Over 40 live bands will perform on 27
entertainment stages that will line the picturesque, 26.2 mile course.
Mile by mile, 20,000 runners and walkers will be inspired by the beat of
groovy, funky, hip hop, country, and good old fashioned rock 'n' roll music.
Two thousand high-energy, local high school cheerleaders will also be
positioned along the route to entertain and invigorate both participants
and spectators.
The Facts
Start line: Laurel & 6th Ave. on the west end of Balboa Park
Fee: $85 until April 19; $95 thereafter. Minimum age 18 years.
Start times: 6:35am, wheelchair invitational; 6:45am, marathon

Race route
The 26.2 mile course starts in Balboa Park, runs through Hillcrest,
skirts the San Diego Zoo, heads downtown into the historic Gaslamp Quarter,
travels up Highway 163, races by SeaWorld and the San Diego beach and bay
communities and ends at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Point Loma.
Finish Line Festival
The Festival opens at 7:30am at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Spectators can hear live music from 9am-3pm on the entertainment stage in front of the family area. The majority of runners are expected to finish the race from 10:45am-12:30pm.

Post-Race Concert
The rock band LIVE will be performing at Coors Amphitheatre on June 6
at 8 pm. Participants receive free admittance with their race number. The public is welcome and additional tickets can be purchased from Ticketmaster at
