A new guide will soon appear that consolidates three former ConVis publications: the Pocket-Guide, Vacation Planner and Travel Planner into one superior publication: San Diego's Official Vacation Planning Guide.
This new guide will be produced by San Diego Magazine in partnership with ConVis and is designed to enhance visibility, increase distribution and be more user-friendly.
Extreme cost savings, as well as other advertising benefits, are available to those members who participated in the former publications. Contact Kevin Kearns at San Diego Magazine, 619-744-0510 for more information.
Please note that Weaver Publications, which formerly published the three planning guides now being consolidated into one publication to be produced by the San Diego Magazine, will apply their expertise into publishing the official Meeting & Convention Planner's Guide. See story below!
Don't miss this opportunity to reach the meeting professionals responsible of bringing millions of tourism dollars into San Diego each year. Did you know that 53% of meeting planners spend up to 2 years planning their event and that they keep the Meeting & Convention Planner's Guide on file throughout the whole planning process?
Produced by Weaver Publications, 15,000 copies of this official ConVis guide will be published this year and mailed directly to the planners of potential and confirmed conventions in San Diego. Some 92% of planners who receive the guide find it useful as a resource to book convention space, support services, hotel rooms, dining, and activities.

New Technology to Give Members More Options!
An exciting new change is coming to ConVis in the form of a new customer relationship management system, developed specifically for Convention & Visitors Bureaus. Designed to bring all sales and marketing processes into a single, centralized system, this new tool will help to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver more business to our stakeholders.
Quicker lead response time and the ability to track the value of your membership are just a part of how the new system will benefit you. Some of the other great tools you will hear more about and will later have access to lie in the website portion of the system. Through the website, you will have access to update your membership listing, add photos, and receive and respond to leads.
When will it be implemented?
The process is broken down into two phases:
Phase One of this process is to replace our existing system. The new core system should be completed by the end of August.
Phase Two will incorporate the rest of the business applications such as, ilead/iService, Outlook Integration and Consumer Website. Phase Two should be completed by the end of October.
In the coming weeks, you will continue to learn more about what the system offers and how it can help us all market San Diego as a premiere destination.
San Diego's cruise industry is on a roll---don't miss your chance to get onboard! San Diego is now a frequent port for Holland America, Carnival, and Crystal Cruises and a variety of niche cruises.
By 2006, it is expected that San Diego will host more than 600,000 cruise ship passengers annually.
The Cruise3sixty Trade Show will be held September 30-October 2 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Both the ConVis Bureau and the Port of San Diego will have a booth to sell our destination and our cruise port to increase pre-and post-cruise stays in San Diego. Members can either prepare a cruise package with a San Diego hotel or attraction for brochure distribution-- or join us personally in our booth.
