Dub Traffik Control is an elite unit of Soundsystem professionals with one common goal – making dem speekas burn. In the studio, DTC is the DJ/production duo consisting of Imputor? Records’ El Poeta, and RE:UP Magazine’s editor-in-chief, Eddie Turbo. Together they create new sounds, fusing Gen. Poeta’s original production with Capt. Turbo’s favored samples and breaks to make the dancehall nice again. While dub and reggae are its main influence, DTC also draws from a heavy diet of hip-hop and funk. The Soundsystem’s proximity to Tijuana, Mexico, has also taken their sound into the Latin and cumbia realm.
