Their music is driven by raw expressive vocals, exceptional blues harmonica, and passionate, blazing blues guitar. Each band member is an accomplished musician. The band is tight, professional and dynamic. The blues music of BB King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Paul Butterfield and other great blues artists has inspired 145th Street to keep The Blues personal, current and vital. Whether they are playing a hard driving Chicago blues shuffle, gettin’ down with a steamy slow blues or funkin’ it up, they do it with flair, taste and excitement. The band’s killer blues CD, 145th Street – Deluxe Blues Band, continues to be well received and gets rave reviews from DJs, blues music critics and blues aficionados worldwide. It was nominated Best Blues Album 2005 by the prestigious San Diego Music Awards. Basically, whoever hears it, digs it. A San Diego blues band, 145th Street plays to large, enthusiastic audiences at the city’s major venues like The House of Blues, 4th & B, The Belly Up and other fine blues clubs and major music festivals. Their live show is infectious – in short, they’re awesome.

Billy is an entertainer extraordinaire, capable of throwing down a blues show that can be infectiously hilarious and convincingly nasty. His energy as a frontman is relentless, his vocals inspiring, and his harp work musically outstanding. Billy’s repertoire ranges from creepy grooves, grinding shuffles, to fast boogies and swings. Yet audiences do not flock to his shows simply for his mastery of the harmonica… they are drawn by his magnetic stage personality and the idea of never knowing what antic may be next!
Blues music was created by people looking for a way to forget their “blues” by telling their stories through song. Billy’s show reminds modern audiences that blues music can be lowdown, but that in the end it’s all about having some fun, dancing, and forgetting about your worries.
