ArtWalk on the Bay is the fall counterpart to Mission Federal ArtWalk, known fondly as San Diego’s premier arts and cultural festival celebrating original works of art for 25 years. Now in its fourth year, ArtWalk on the Bay presents the best of the region’s original works of art on exhibit and for sale in a unique and picturesque outdoor setting along San Diego’s beautiful bay. The event is located at Embarcadero Marina Park North (behind Seaport Village). Featuring more than 100 artists and their original work alongside live music performances on two stages with activities, this year’s annual event is set forth to be a huge draw for locals and visitors to San Diego.
New this year, ArtWalk on the Bay will introduce a “Bayside Lounge,” which will serve a signature bloody mary cocktail, beer and wine to guests over 21 years of age. Partial proceeds from beverage purchase will benefit ArtReach, a 501c3 art education program offering visual art experiences to San Diego County students in grades K-6. The “Bayside Lounge” is managed by Fast Forward Event Productions, who is known for creating exceptional events in the region.
A special part of the festival for families and children is KidsWalk, which provides free interactive arts activities for kids of all ages with support from ArtReach, which believes that every student has an artist inside waiting to bloom.
With the sponsorship of Port of San Diego/“The Big Bay,” ArtWalk on the Bay 2009 partnerships also include: AT&T, VitaminWater and SmartWater, Subaru, The Westgate Hotel, the Center City Deveolopment Corporation (CCDC), Seaport Village, San Diego Port Tenants Association, San Diego Magazine, Diego, San Diego CityBeat and Viva-City, to create an event that is expected to attract more than 30,000 attendees this year and contributes more than $350,000 to the local San Diego arts and business economy.
ArtWalk on the Bay’s waterfront location is in close proximity to San Diego’s downtown nightlife and tourist attractions making this event a convenient, must-see event for visitors and locals alike. The beautiful Embarcadero Marina Park North provides a scenic venue for art, music and interactive art experiences for individuals and their families.
