The 55th season of La Jolla Symphony & Chorus opens with music from the extremes of Bartok -- his charming Romanian Folk Dances and the brutal Miraculous Mandarin Suite. The two pieces frame Osvaldo Golijov’s ravishing Three Songs for Soprano performed by Susan Narucki in her debut with the orchestra. The program concludes with Beethoven’s powerful Seventh Symphony.
