This is garage rock done right, with a vocalist whose furry, bear-like voice evokes The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. Really, you could put “Reverend Dave” in front of any band and it’ll sound fantastic. But his garage-blues trio is ready-built for his fiery, ravaged little soul. Put these guys on a bill with The Detroit Cobras and locals Vinyl Radio and let the hand clapping and ass shaking ensue.
This San Diego foursome merges post-punk with dance rock and just a hint of early 80’s pop. Through lead singer Rob Kent’s surly vocals pitted against Andrew Geldmeier’s biting guitar, the rythms of Jake Bankhead’s chunky bass and Dustin Elliot’s rapid fire drumming, shine through.
