It may seem a little unfair.

Why should San Diego get to be one of the most beautiful cities in America, and have one of the most anticipated film festivals on the festival circuit?

Often referred to as America's Finest City, San Diego is famous for its year round mild climate, beautiful beaches, attractions, and amenities that attract millions of visitors each year. Yet the heart and soul of San Diego is its thriving arts scene.

More and more, film enthusiasts are coming to San Diego to bask in the light of the glitz and glamour, the parties and premieres, the artists and aficionados, celebrities and scene stealers that travel from LA, New York, London or Sydney - and everywhere in between - to be a part of our five day festival extravaganza.

The San Diego Film Festival brings a new wave of international culture to San Diego, and connects you to film makers, actors, critics and storytellers.

Join us for studio premieres, award-winning indies, interviews with directors and actors, and the opportunity to meet other film lovers - all while enjoying a little red carpet treatment.

San Diego Film Festival Premieres

And if you think the parties are fun, wait until you see the movies. The San Diego Film Festival is rapidly developing a reputation for premiering blockbuster films right here in San Diego. In 2012 you saw Silver Linings Playbook, Beasts of the Southern Wild and Quartet here long before they became box office hits. In 2013, the San Diego Film Festival premiered 12 Years a Slave, The German, and August: Osage County. And last year it was The Imitation Game and Whiplash, which were honored with four Oscar wins and 11 nominations, plus Wild, Mr. Turner, St. Vincent, The Good Lie, and more.

And there's already buzz about this year's line-up which will be announced September 1.

So join us beneath the temperate skies of San Diego and look for the klieg lights of Hollywood around town during the San Diego Film Festival - September 30 - October 4, 2015.
