The 18th Annual Encinitas Chamber of Commerce Oktoberfest will will feature The Bluebirds a German-American Band, Bavarian dancers and a street craft faire featuring over 200 vendors, including artisans with unusual arts and craft items.
The family food and refreshment tent will be serving authentic German food and beers from national & local breweries.
The Event will be kicked off with a ceremonial parade beginning at 12:00 PM.
There will be a family fun zone with children's games, family oriented activities and much more.
The Bluebirds German-American Band will be performing in the opening parade and then they will then play from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM on the stage in the family tent singing genuine German songs as well as conducting traditional and modern contests.
The Gemütlichkeit Alpine Dancers will demonstrate authentic dances to the guests of the Oktoberfest. They are a group of international folk dancers from the greater San Diego area. They specialize in the dances of the German/Alpine ethnic area - specifically, dances from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein, and surrounding regions with similar cultural background. Their dance director and several of the dancers hail from mixed German ancestry. The name, "Gemütlichkeit" is derived from the popular Oktoberfest toast, and means the comfortable, cozy feeling invoked by Bavarian and Tyrolean hospitality.
