San Diego, CA (September 09, 2009) – The back of a pedicab proved to be a powerful advertising vehicle for companies hoping to get their message out to the 150,000 people in attendance at the 2009 Comic-Con convention. Throughout the week of the massive annual pop culture convention, VIP Pedicab adorned 225 pedicab bikes moving across downtown San Diego with billboards advertising a new movie, t.v. show, and a production company with the professional drivers decked out in matching t-shirts.
Focus Features purchased a fleet of 100 pedicabs to bring attention to their upcoming movie, “Nine”, and Showtime also used 100 pedicabs to promote their primetime cable show, “Dexter”. Similarly, After Dark Films took advantage of the exposure to the large convention crowds with their message embellished on 25 pedicabs zooming around the city.
“This was the first time our company worked on such a large advertising campaign using this many pedicabs,” said Ali Horuz, president of VIP Pedicab. “The decorated pedicabs and festive t-shirts that our drivers wore each day were a hit with the show’s attendees and the inquiries we received about the ads were non-stop.”
