San Diego's Cosmopolitan Hotel and Restaurant is an exciting new restaurant and hotel experience in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. Both a tribute to and reflection of San Diego's past, The Cosmopolitan has been fully restored by California State Parks to its 1870's splendor.
The first floor adobe structure, built between 1827 and 1829, was once the family home of Juan Bandini, a colorful and important player in San Diego's early development.
In 1869, under the ownership of Albert Seeley, the operator of the only stagecoach run from San Diego to Los Angeles, it was expanded with the 2nd floor to become The Cosmopolitan Hotel. It's a uniquely San Diego story, a cultural mosaic of eras.
The Cosmopolitan's full-service restaurant and bar are open 7 days a week for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch with a seasonal menu designed to please, attentive service and carefully prepared meals including American Grill, Seafood and Mexican-inspired favorites.
Old Town's Cosmopolitan is also a vintage 10 room bed and breakfast hotel. Each room is beautifully furnished with 1870's antiques and private bath. The Cosmopolitan is the only hotel in the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.
