Opened to the public since 1982, the San Diego Model Railroad Museum features four operating scale-model railroads of the Southwest, a hands-on Thomas the Tank Engine activity room, an interactive toy train gallery, an a relief map of San Diego County featuring an interactive computer display. At 27,000 square feet, San Diego Model Railroad Museum is the largest model railroad display in the North America.
