Last year's air show received the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) award for the best military air show in the country. This year's air show will be even better.
The theme for this year's air show is "A Salute to Marine Corps Aviation" and will focus on the magnificent men and women who are the heart and soul of Marine Aviation and the superb inventory of aircraft they fly and maintain, including the MV-22 Osprey.
This year we are pleased to welcome back the world-famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels. This elite, precision flying team will take to the skies over Miramar with other military and civilian aircraft including the AV-8B Harrier, F/A-18 Hornet, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the F-22 Raptor. We are also fortunate to have with us many amazing acrobatic aerial performers, including the legendary Sean Tucker. These military and civilian aviators will thoroughly entertain you with their unmatched aviation skills. Additionally, the flight line will be full with static displays, military equipment exhibits, air show memorabilia, and plenty of refreshments to keep you cool while you enjoy the inspiring feats of these pilots.
As you enjoy the air show, please take the time to talk to the Marines, Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen who are supporting the show. These tremendous young men and women, many of whom have deployed in support of the Global War on Terror to Iraq and Afghanistan, are our nation’s finest. Their enthusiasm for what they do, and their passion for protecting our way of Life, will impress you. We also salute the military families who continue to support their loved ones who are answering the call of duty around the world. Most importantly, please take a moment to honor those men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the freedoms we enjoy. They are American Heroes.
