With exhibits to touch, IMAX films to watch and fun to be had, The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center is an educational, entertaining experience for visitors of all ages. We feature seven galleries of exciting, hands-on science exhibits and Southern California's only IMAX Dome Theater, where visitors can watch the biggest films on the planet or stunning planetarium shows. A 23-passenger motion simulator ride thrills visitors with journeys into space, underwater and everywhere in between. "Kid City" offers interactive fun and learning for preschool-age children (infants through age five). The Fleet offers many public programs and workshops throughout the year including Family Science Day (3rd Saturday each month), Afternoon Scholars Lectures for senior citizens (1st Monday each month), Exploring Ethics, DNA Day, Astronomy Day and more. Our weekend programs bring visitors face to face with leading scientists, astronauts and technology innovators. The Fleet is located at the east end of the Prado, the main thoroughfare in beautiful Balboa Park. Since its opening in 1973, The Fleet has been the best-attended museum in the city and a Top 10 attraction in San Diego.
