  • Neighborhood: Downtown
  • Hours: We operate year round with most sailing starting no earlier than 11 am. We do answer the phone for at least 10 hours per day. The 2 race yachts operate during daylight hours only, but the much larger 139 Ft yacht America will operate well into the evening.
Originally called "Next Level Sailing" when we started business in 2003, our company took off like a rocket when MTV used the yachts and our company to film the TV Reality Show "Real World". The yachts, the Blue House where the cast lived and San Diego gained huge exposure during that TV season. Between that exposure and the thrill and prestige of the yachts themselves this company grew quickly. In 2008, now retired from professional America's Cup racing Dennis Conner approached Next Level Sailing to become a partner. The transition was a natural step to renaming our business "Dennis Conner's America's Cup Experience". Famous yacht America is available for exciting sails to the ocean during Whale Watching season that ends late April and glorious daily sunset sails on the bay and ocean's edge from early May to late September. Operating out of the Maritime Museum of San Diego the America runs daily for 4 hour romantic and very entertaining whale watching sails. Guests also enjoy time at the museum before or after each trip.It is a Picnic on the Ocean with a no seasickness guarantee. The America also operates early evening sunset cruises every day from May 2nd to Late September. Whale Watching season starts December 19 and runs through April 15. America is also a great place to be for the San Diego Bay Annual Parade of Lights and 4th of July. Dennis Conner's America's Cup Experience invites individuals and small groups to join our year round 2.5 hour sails or races on the bay aboard one of Dennis Conner's America's Cup racing yachts: Stars & Stripes (USA 34), and Abracadabra (USA 54). Dennis Conner is one of the owners of this business. From time to time you may get a glimpse of Dennis about the docks. These yachts competed in the 1995, and 2000 America's Cup. You are welcome to pitch in and feel like part of the crew on these sail boats, or just relax in awe of these magnificent 80 foot-long, high-tech racing machines as you cruise effortlessly throughout the sheltered waters of beautiful San Diego Bay. This is definitely not a seasick experience, but a thrilling big boat ride. If you're lucky enough to be here on a busy day we'll likely have two yachts leaving the dock side by side which means you'll experience the rush of being in a real match race, two 80 Ft. yachts, one on one racing up and down the bay just the way it is done in the professional America's Cup sailing events. These yachts are current generation vessels called IACC (International America's Cup Class). This class of cup yacht started in 1992. Our 2000 model yacht is the most modern America's Cup vessel available for public use in the USA. Our Stars & Stripes vessel was raced by famous skipper Dennis Conner and is the most recognized name in America's Cup racing. Not only is this a great treat for you, but the bragging rights back home are second to none. We look forward to welcoming you on board. Yacht America + our America's Cup race yachts are also available for special private or corporate group packages.
