San Diego's Live Music Scene
Music fans have flocked to San Diego's live music venues for years to discover local bands before they broke nationally. In the 80's and early 90's, bands like Pitchfork, Drive Like Jehu and Rocket from the Crypt put San Diego's music scene on the map. More recently, local indie favorites like Scarlet Symphony, Pinback, The Locust, and Louis XIV received national and international recognition.
Today, music lovers can explore San Diego's eclectic music scene, catch a show in a waterfront venue, and scout out the next big band while enjoying the region's laid-back Southern California atmosphere. They can also party at annual outdoor music festivals and sleep like rock stars in some of the city's hottest accommodations like the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego.
