Born in 1992 in Blagoveshchensk, the administrative centre of Amur Oblast in the Russian Far East, Nikolay Khozyainov is one of the most promising pianists of his generation.
He began to play the piano at the age of five. In 1999-2010 he studied at Central Musical School of the Moscow P.I.Tchaikovsky Conservatory. From 2005 he developed his abilities with the eminent pianist Mikhail Voskresensky, and became his student in the Pyotr Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 2010.
Nikolay Khozyainov is the winner of numerous awards in international piano competitions, including the 1st prize and special prize for the best performance of Rondo-Capriccioso in E major Op.14 by Felix Mendelssohn at the International Piano Competition "Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte"(Czech Republic, 2003), 1st Prize at the IX International Carl Filtsch Piano Competition (Romania, 2004) and 1st Prize at the International Piano Competition A. Scriabin in Paris (2008).
Nikolay Khozyainov's La Jolla Music Society debut will include works by Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff.
