Research and Reports

The San Diego visitor industry is the third largest industry in San Diego County, employing more than 160,000 San Diegans.  It is one of the top five leisure vacation destinations in the U.S. and a top 10 business destination as measured by visitor-days.  Visitors spend $8 billion annually at thousands of businesses in the County.  This equates to $18 Billion in economic impact for the region, and thus a very important piece of the economic health of the region.  Get the complete list of general industry facts.

The Market Intelligence Department tracks the visitor market on behalf of the industry, and provides numerous reports to the public.

SDCVB members can also access weekly and monthly lodging performance data, as well as an industry planning calendar by using your MemberNet login under the Marketing Tools section.  However, if you are looking for San Diego travel data not found on here, our Tourism Research Center could be the solution for you.

Tourism Research Center

In response to the need from our members and community, the SDCVB has created a Tourism Research Center to develop customized research packages for a fee based on your needs.  Through SDCVB subscriptions to the latest market research trends as well as our internal research, the Tourism Research Center has all of the information you need to market your business to the San Diego visitor.   Contact Suzzanne Ravitz at sravitz@sdcvb.org for more information.
