Director of IT

The San Diego Tourism Authority is a private, non-profit, mutual benefit corporation composed of approximately 900 member organizations, businesses, local governments, and individuals seeking a better community through the visitor industry. San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA) members include tourism-related entities in such categories as lodging, dining, arts & attractions, shopping, and transportation, among others, as well as other companies indirectly involved in the visitor industry.

As a sales and marketing organization, the main objective of SDTA is to promote and market San Diego County as a vacation destination and meetings and convention site. SDTA also represents and supports the interests of the visitor industry as a whole.

General Responsibilities Managing the IT Department:

  • Cybersecurity
  • CRM and ERP Financial system for critical enterprise technologies & services
  • Messaging
  • Remote access and mobile management
  • Datacenters
  • Networking and telecommunication
  • Desktop engineering
  • Business continuity
  • Cloud strategy implementation
  • User administration
  • Data resiliency/restoration and disaster recovery.
  • Internal training

Requirements:

  • Previous hands on technology leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Ability to review current IT Infrastructure and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Hardware, Software, Windows, Office365, Mobile, Network etc.Project Management experience.
  • Database experience is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s degree preferred; or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years of experience in progressively responsible IT positions. 
  • Experience leading cross-functional enterprise-level application and data analytic initiatives including CRM and ERP.
  • Proven experience as a digital pathfinder and change agent.
  • Experience in IT financial management and budget forecasting, with a successful track record of direct responsibility in managing annual IT budgets of at least $1M. 
  • Thorough knowledge of information technology including hybrid cloud environments, virtualized computing systems, network operation systems, Office 365, cyber security.
