The San Diego Tourism Authority is a private, non-profit, mutual benefit corporation composed of approximately 900 member organizations, businesses, local governments, and individuals seeking a better community through the visitor industry. San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA) members include tourism-related entities in such categories as lodging, dining, arts & attractions, shopping, and transportation, among others, as well as other companies indirectly involved in the visitor industry.
As a sales and marketing organization, the main objective of SDTA is to promote and market San Diego County as a vacation destination and meetings and convention site. SDTA also represents and supports the interests of the visitor industry as a whole.
We are looking for a Site Experience Manager who is knowledgeable and passionate about San Diego.
- Conduct site experience tours of hotels and venues with visiting meeting planners with the goal of confirming the business for San Diego.
- Work with National Sales Directors to "finish" the sale.
- Fully understand the customer's meeting needs prior to the start of each site in order to personalize the customer site experience.
- Speak of San Diego's highlights, points of interest and other relevant information while safely driving clients.
- Understand the key selling points and differentiation for all regions of San Diego.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism and hospitality to develop strong support from member hotels and venues; acting as a representation of the Hotel Meetings team and the San Diego Tourism Authority.
- Build and manage relationships internally and externally that will support superior site experiences as a core value that is highly respected within the community.
- Follow guidelines established for relevant site experiences; including dress code, proper introductions and time keeping.
- Meet site experiences conversion rates.
- BS/BA preferred or a minimum of 4 years hospitality or sales experience.
- Must have superior knowledge of San Diego hotels, venues and attractions and all elements that make San Diego a leading meeting destination.
- Knowledge of the hospitality industry and San Diego's hotel community (familiarity with meeting space, hotel contacts and industry jargon) is required.
- Must have exceptional people skills and be a relationship builder with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to drive customers in company vehicle to multiple hotel sites/venues and walk 6 plus hours a day with a fast-paced daily schedule along with familiarity with San Diego to maneuver around city streets and neighborhoods easily is preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Candidates must have strong organizational skills and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexible and a quick thinker to adjust moving schedules with little notice.
