San Diego LGBTQ+ Pride Celebration

America's Finest Pride Parade & Festival

With world-famous Balboa Park as its festival site and a mile-long parade route stretching through one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly neighborhoods in the nation, San Diego's Pride celebration attracts nearly 200,000 locals and visitors to the annual three-day event in July.

Honoring diversity, promoting equality and recognizing human rights

San Diego LGBTQ+ Pride celebration gives extra sparkle to America’s Finest City in sunny July. The three-day extravaganza is a collective burst of energy, filled with music, food, drinks, fun, and love. Friends and strangers meet along the mile-long parade route in dynamic gayborhood Hillcrest. The Festival closes the event in beautiful Balboa Park, and the party doesn’t stop until long after sunset.

Live Life Out Proud

San Diego LGBTQ+ Pride is the ultimate celebration—the vibes are upbeat and loving, the people are decked out in swaths of color, and there is a palpable sense of harmony and togetherness. The clubs, bars, and streets hum with revelry, flags representing all facets of the community wave, feather boas and glitter are the accessories du jour, and everyone is welcome.

The multi-day event in July includes a kick-off rally, Pride 5k, Pride Parade, and culminates in a raucous festival in Balboa Park. Over 200,000 attendees gather to watch the parade, which features colorful floats, prominent members of the community, activist groups, politicians, military, police and firefighters, the beloved Dykes on Bikes, and more.

Once the parade ends, satellite parties take place all around town. The official celebration is the Festival, where multiple stages carry acts like En Vogue and TLC, as well as over 100 other performances from bands to DJs to solo artists. Vendors, exhibits, cultural presentations, and tasty food options abound, and over 40,000 people join together to celebrate. At San Diego Pride, love wins.
