Lemon Festival celebrates Chula Vista's heritage as the "Lemon Capital of the World" and will feature live entertainment, a kids' fun zone and lemons galore.
Pucker up for the sweetest sour event of the year, the Third Avenue Village Association's Lemon Festival presented by WalMart. Returning for its 23rd year on Sunday, August 4 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the Lemon Festival brings crates full of summer fun to Chula Vista's Original Neighborhood, spanning Third Avenue from E to G Streets.
Celebrate this juicy jubilee with the community by sporting your brightest yellow outfit and enjoying lemon-infused activities including live bands, sour contests, a kid’s fun zone, a craft beer garden and hundreds of festive booths.
Live bands will rock the event on the Lemonade Bandstand at Park Way and the Citrus Stage at E Street. Between the tangy tunes, compete for glory and prizes in the Lemon Pie Eating, Lemon Peeling and Largest Lemon contests. Sour style will be rewarded as well, with the Best Lemon Outfit contest. All attendees are encouraged to wear yellow to showcase their Chula Vista pride.
Reach new heights with the Festival Fun Zone located at F Street where bungee rides, a rock wall and more will delight thrill seekers of all ages. Brimming with interactive features and giveaways from community partners, this 22-year tradition is more refreshing than the fresh-squeezed lemonade offered in abundance.
Craft Beer Garden
For adults seeking something stronger than lemonade, head to Memorial Park near the Lemon Bandstand at 373 Park Way for the Lemon Festival Craft Beer Garden featuring a signature Meyer Lemon Sculpin from Ballast Point Brewing Co. Additionally, Thr3e Punk Ales, Groundswell Brewing Co. and Bay Bridge Brewing will be pouring their signature brews. Ages 21 and up only.
