It's Spooky Season!

It's that time of the year again! Be wary of ghouls 'n ghosts lurking around La Jolla Village!

Come on down and bring your little pillagers to this fun, family event! Spend an afternoon of trick or treating at participating merchants in La Jolla village. Each participating merchant will be designated by orange and black balloons outside storefronts. Dress in your best costume and watch for witches casting spells!

All new this year, on the corner of 30th & University the SDCCU North Park Festival of Arts will include a Friday night Kick Off Party from 6 PM to 11 PM. This free, 21+ event will feature Live Music along with a Mike Hess Beer Garden. Acts will include music from San Diego’s best talent, including Folk, County, Rock, Latin, Hip-Hop, Blues, and Electronic music, paired with handcrafted cocktails from San Diego’s Cutwater Spirits and a variety of dishes from local food trucks!

Pop Culture Science: The Social Science of Get Out

This exciting new series will explore the science behind everything we love about pop culture, from films, TV shows, comics, books, toys, to fandom and more. Join us on Friday, March 13 for a good Friday the 13th scare as we watch Get Out. Before the movie, we will hear from Dr. Phillip Serrato from San Diego State University as he uses Get Out to explain why some horror movies scare us so deeply, why some people seek out horror films and how horror films offer audiences new types of knowledge that can prove disturbing or downright scary.

Get Out is rated R. Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. Contains some violence, bloody images, and language including sexual references.

Country Brunch Live: Farm Truck

"Farm Truck is an Alternative Country band, based out of San Diego. They are heavily influenced by Red Dirt bands out of Texas and Oklahoma, as well as Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Replacements, and Steve Earle. Farm Truck has opened for national acts such as Cody Canada and The Departed, Artimus Pyle, Micky and The Motorcars, Gethen Jenkins, as well as shared the stage with local acts The Farmers, Sara Petite, Nancarrow, and Ginger Cowgirl. Farm Truck is rapidly becoming one of San Diego's most popular original Roots Rock/Country bands.
