Little Italy Wednesday Market: Farmers' Market

Where the Chefs Shop!

Little Italy's newest year-round farmers' market, the Little Italy Wednesday Market offers farm fresh produce, pastured eggs, poultry, meat, fish, bread, sauces, dog food, hummus, olive oil and more, brought to the neighborhood by California farmers, fisherman and artisan foodmakers. Like the treasured Little Italy Mercato, the Little Italy Wednesday Market is located on West Date St., and stretches three blocks from Kettner Blvd. to State St. Shoppers enjoy live music during the market, adding to the authentic Italian ambience of the Piazza della Famiglia.

Created to be the destination “where the chefs shop,” the Little Italy Wednesday Market provides local chefs and restaurants a mid-week market to give them plenty of time to shop for local produce and ingredients to craft their menu specials for the upcoming weekend!

The Flower Fields

Mar 1 - May 9, 2021

For more than sixty years, Mother Nature has transformed the rolling hills of North San Diego County into one of the most spectacular and coordinated displays of natural color and beauty anywhere in the world. The nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch in Carlsbad, California, are in bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year - from early March through early May - literally bringing the famous fields back to life. This annual burst of color, which has become part of the area’s local heritage, also is one of nature’s official ways of announcing the arrival of spring here in Southern California.
