A 10-day celebration, promoting more than 150 independent craft breweries in San Diego County. Realizing our commitment to making theatre matter to more people, AXIS offers free cultural programs on the Globe’s Copley Plaza led by local artists and craftspeople. 9.5 million visitors pass through Balboa Park each year. The Old Globe strives to engage this population as we transform our non-performance space into a participatory art venue, utilizing the Globe’s unique physical location as an opportunity for connectivity and creative placemaking. AXIS is an effort to broaden our concept of audience, extending beyond regular ticket-holders and encompassing diverse, multigenerational constituencies from communities across San Diego County.

The Fleet Science Center invites you to connect to the power of science through FLEETtv! 

Welcome to an exciting place where you can have fun with experiments, hands-on activities, behind-the-scenes interviews, bloopers and more, all from the comfort of your home. Oh, and did we mention jokes? Because we have them, too. Get ready to experience that science really is everywhere with FLEETtv!

Each year, talented students from San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory’s pre-professional Ovation and intermediate level Showcase ensemble programs compete in SDYS’ solo Concerto Competitions. Solo recital competitions provide musicians, both new and accomplished, with valuable performance training, inspiration from great performances by their fellow musicians, and a goal to strive toward in practicing and perfecting their craft. In addition to cash scholarship awards, the winners of both our Concerto Competitions gain the opportunity to perform as featured soloists in future San Diego Youth Symphony concerts.

SDYS’ Showcase level Concerto Competition finalists will perform live from their homes on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 5pm and you’re invited to attend online!
