This exciting new series will explore the science behind everything we love about pop culture, from films, TV shows, comics, books, toys, to fandom and more. Join us on Friday, March 13 for a good Friday the 13th scare as we watch Get Out. Before the movie, we will hear from Dr. Phillip Serrato from San Diego State University as he uses Get Out to explain why some horror movies scare us so deeply, why some people seek out horror films and how horror films offer audiences new types of knowledge that can prove disturbing or downright scary.

Get Out is rated R. Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. Contains some violence, bloody images, and language including sexual references.

Julian Woman's Club Wildflower Show

May 1 - May 3, 2020

The Julian Wildflower Show has been a historical event for more than 90 years. Because of Julian’s mountain valley location, bordering a national forest and close to the Anza-Borrego State Park, we have 855 species of plants within 25 miles of town, many of which were used for health and healing by Native Americans. The Show is meant to educate club members, local residents, out-of-town visitors and children about the botanical wealth of Julian and its vicinity.

TEAMS FOR GOOD Corporate Volunteer Shift

Nov 14, 2019 - ongoing

Teams for Good is an opportunity for organizations and groups to unite against hunger by supporting Feeding San Diego through volunteerism and giving!

Teams for Good includes a two-hour corporate volunteer shift at Feeding San Diego, during which time, your team will help glean, sort and pack food before it is distributed to those in need. By participating in Teams for Good, your company can make a profound difference in the lives of the one in eight San Diegans facing hunger.

Thanks to your contribution, Feeding San Diego will be able to deliver two full trucks, one full truck, or a half truck of food (depending on the impact level you select) to people facing hunger. Your support helps ensure that every child, family, and senior facing hunger in our community can access fresh, nutritious food.
