Seniors Free All February at the Safari Park

Throughout the entire month of February, adults 65 years and older* are invited to enjoy the San Diego Zoo Safari Park for free. Marvel at our peppy platypuses, let your soul soar as you watch a free-flight bird show, explore our unique gardens,  experience an amazing variety of animals roaming vast habitat. See a cheetah run at top speed, watch our elephant herd raising energietic youngsters and discover how everyone can help animals. Bring friends and family—there's something for everyone!

*Guests must present their valid photo ID at any Safari Park ticket window to gain free admission; parking not included.  Valid only at the Safari Park in February.

The Flower Fields

For more than sixty years, Mother Nature has transformed the rolling hills of North San Diego County into one of the most spectacular and coordinated displays of natural color and beauty anywhere in the world. The nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch in Carlsbad, California, are in bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year - from early March through early May - literally bringing the famous fields back to life. This annual burst of color, which has become part of the area’s local heritage, also is one of nature’s official ways of announcing the arrival of spring here in Southern California.

This events draws many entrants and has a strong youth entrance as well.

It will also feature Children's Art - Water Colors of Daffodils.

Falconry Encounter

With 265 acres to roam, we’re spreading our wings this summer when it comes to more outdoor offerings. Topping the list: Falconry officially takes flight under the instruction of experienced falconers. Get up close and interact with some of nature's top predators. Experience flying a trained bird of prey to your glove. Learn the history of falconry. Bond with the owls. Play field games with a hawk. A wonderland of exploration awaits.

Saturday morning’s 9:00am - 10:00am on the Aragon Lawn


$95 per person

Private falconry group encounters are available based on request and require 72 hours advance notice. Please contact the Front Desk to inquire about private parties.
