Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a wonderful, whimsical musical based upon the classic Dr. Seuss book. Back for another incredible year, the family favorite features the songs “Santa for a Day,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” and “Welcome, Christmas (Fah Who Doraze),” the delightful carol from the popular animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Celebrate the holidays as the Old Globe Theatre is once again transformed into the snow-covered Who-ville, right down to the last can of Who-hash.

Join us on September 29 to celebrate the release of The Snakes Came Back by Lora Mathis. There will also be a live poetry performance by Lora Mathis and Matty Terrones in Jacobs Hall and a Book Pop-Up Shop in Berglund Lobby. Refreshments will be available for purchase from The Kitchen.

The Snakes Came Back is Lora Mathis' third collection of poems, published by Metatron Press in Montréal, Quebec.

In celebration of Día de los Muertos, join us on the Museum Courtyard for an evening of art, music, and remembrance. Participants will create a personal ofrenda with a nicho box, inspired by the Museum’s Día de los Muertos altar designed by Macedonio Arteaga and dedicated to Frida Kahlo.

Constructed of humble materials, nichos can be as colorful and varied as you make them! Bring your own photo of a loved one or small object of remembrance to incorporate into your nicho.

Tickets include admission to the exhibitions, supplies for a drop-in art activity, and a signature cocktail. This is a 21+ event. ID required.

Enjoy a fusion of the color and traditions of both Mexican & American Christmas songs with Mariachi Sol de Mexico’s A Merry-Achi Christmas. Join us Sunday, December 17 at the historic Balboa Theatre! It's set to be a unique fiesta of favorite holiday tunes from both sides of the border, brought to life with the blazing sounds of a 13-piece Mariachi ensemble.
