The 22nd Annual San Diego International Film Festival is ‘Celebrating the Power of Film’ with curated screenings that inform, inspire and entertain.  Festival events include Opening Night Film Premiere & Reception, Night of the Stars Tribute, Culinary Cinema, Studio Premieres, curated features, documentaries and shorts from Independent Filmmakers around the world as well as parties, food, drinks, panels and networking events. It’s going to be an amazing 5 days of coming together for film on the big screen, conversation and celebrations!

The Rady Children’s Invitational is a men’s college basketball tournament in San Diego, California. The first-ever Invitational happens on Thanksgiving Day, 2023, at LionTree Arena on the UC San Diego Campus. With four elite college basketball programs committed to the Invitational through 2024, this holiday tournament promises an unforgettable weekend of basketball, beaches, and the best San Diego offers.

The 2023 field includes the Iowa Hawkeyes (Big Ten), USC Trojans (Pac-12), Seton Hall Pirates (Big East), and the Oklahoma Sooners (Big 12). First-day matchups and tip times will be announced in the coming months. The third place and championship games will take place on Day Two.

Boarded! A New Pirate Adventure presented by San Diego Pirate Adventures returns for the holidays These popular 90-minute performances are staged aboard the Maritime Museum of San Diego’s 16th century Spanish galleon San Salvador. Guests will be fully engaged in pirate theatrics at the dock and underway on San Diego Bay.

This hilarious interactive show puts visitors right in the middle of the pirate action. Participants will be sworn in as part of the ship crew, trained how to navigate, sword fight, bail water from a sinking ship, escape from the King’s Jail, swab the deck and other pirate skills. Board at the Maritime Museum and head out on San Diego Bay for this non stop outdoor pirate playground staged aboard the galleon replica San Salvador.

Two performances daily this holiday season, Saturday October 28, November 25, and December 30.
