For more than sixty years, Mother Nature has transformed the rolling hills of North San Diego County into one of the most spectacular and coordinated displays of natural color and beauty anywhere in the world. The nearly fifty acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up the Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch in Carlsbad, California, are in bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year - from early March through early May - literally bringing the famous fields back to life. This annual burst of color, which has become part of the area’s local heritage, also is one of nature’s official ways of announcing the arrival of spring here in Southern California.

Kimono, traditional Japanese clothing, is the beauty of Japan that includes beautiful nature, people's lives, and Japanese history. To wear a kimono, is to wear art. It is made with traditional Japanese craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation. Although it is changing over time with its long history, kimono is still worn as ceremonial clothing for formal occasions and as fashionable clothing for casual occasions.

Being at home doesn’t have to be a “bear” when you can catch all the action on the San Diego Zoo’s Polar Cam, and other live wildlife cams featuring animals at the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park. From their habitat to yours, these livestreaming video cams provide “being there” views of wildlife as they explore, eat, swing, roll, pounce, scratch, and play through their day.

This spring break, the Fleet Science Center offers full-day STEAM camps for kids in grades 1–3. The in-person camps take place at the Fleet and are designed to include fun hands-on activities while incorporating the Fleet's general exhibit galleries, following all health and safety guidelines.
