Dia de los Muertos

Nov 1 - Nov 2, 2020

Día de los Muertos, is celebrated in Old Town on the weekend prior to or on the actual dates of November 1 and 2.
This holiday is considered to be one of the most important holiday's of the year by many in Mexico and other Latin American countries.
The unity between life and death is celebrated when families come together and offer hospitality to the spirits of their loved ones.

This event is designed to celebrate the history, culture and heritage of the San Diego region and to pay homage to this very important and festive tradition.
Old Town’s diverse and historic legacy makes it the best site in San Diego to foster this celebration.

Old Town itself takes the place of the mercado, a traditional marketplace, providing goods, entertainment,
and regional food

Music At The Maritime, Museum Sunday Concerts

Aug 30 - Nov 15, 2020

The Hausmann Quartet and Maritime Museum of San Diego are excited to partner to present the fifth season of Haydn Voyages: Music at the Maritime, a quarterly concert series performed aboard one of the Museum’s ten historic world-class vessels, the 1898 steam ferryboat Berkeley that operated for 60 years on San Francisco Bay.

Concerts aboard the Berkeley, a National and State Historic Landmark docked in downtown San Diego next to Star of India, explore the evolution of the string quartet through the lens of Joseph Haydn’s quartet cycle. The consistently creative and adventurous programs presented in the series combined with the idyllic views and sounds of the harbor make Haydn Voyages one of San Diego’s best-loved young cultural institutions.
