All aboard the 16th-century galleon for this hilarious interactive show? We put our visitors right in the middle of the pirate action. Participants will be sworn in as part of the ship crew, trained how to navigate, sword fight, bail water from a sinking ship, escape from the King’s Jail, swab the deck and other pirate skills. Performances are 90 minutes. Plus tickets include general admission to tour the historic fleet of ships and fascinating below deck exhibits before or after your show! Recommended for 5+). The Maritime Museum of San Diego is thrilled to announce the return of its beloved Star of India Family Overnight Experience — an unforgettable opportunity to stay aboard the iconic 1863 bark Star of India and step back in time.

Time: 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m. the following morning. Includes dinner and breakfast. Held dockside at the Maritime Museum of San Diego. Space is limited – advance registration required.

Families sign on as “crew” and take part in an immersive living history adventure led by our costumed, in-character instructors. This special overnight program is usually reserved for student field trips — but this summer, it’s open to families looking for a one-of-a-kind experience. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Activities include: Raising sails, moving cargo, learning sailor skills, and more!
